Copa Airlines has left open a second front of negotiations so that their passengers can catch a flight to Bocas del Toro and Chiriqui from Tocumen airport.

Until recently, Copa negotiations had taken place only with Air Panama, a company proposing to share code and make the crossing.

But the Panamanian airline flies to over 45 destinations expanded its radar and their representatives now hold meetings with executives Aeroperlas (Taca property) in order to explore a possible agreement in the event that no negotiations with Air Panama thrive.

While maintaining a strong competition in the region, Copa and Taca can now find a common ground and share code after the two companies will formally join the Star Alliance network.

Cup and the Government are convinced of the potential would be given to Panama as a tourist destination if you make direct connections from Tocumen to two of the most visited regions of the country.

The company asked the State 15 improvements in the terminal to fly to Bocas del Toro and Chiriqui and 13 have already been fulfilled, as the installation of X-ray machines for baggage screening. Failure to build a perimeter fence to prevent access of people to the runways.
